Playwriting

I fell in love with stories starting with children's books read to me at bedtime. That turned into a love for character and dialogue, and a passion for staged work. Scroll down to see descriptions of my work and click the link above to view scripts on New Play Exchange!

Fingerpainting

This play in progress follows three teenage girls as they work at a kids gym in Texas. Lila and Ruby, estranged friends, come together to show Gia, a homeschooled freshmen, what being a teenager is all about. This is all in the midst of working with rowdy kids and parents.

Walls

This fully length play looks at grief from an only daughter. Cath returns to her childhood home after her grandmother passes away and quickly realizes her family is not like how she left it. Her grief and her tumultuous relationship with her step-dad makes her seek comfort in her ex-boyfriend as she faces family secrets, dynamics and truths.

Prima

Prima is a full length play that zooms in on the inner workings of young women at a small ballet studio as they navigate their love and hate of the art and what friendship looks like in the midst of competition. The inspiration came from 13 years (3-16 years old) of classical ballet training and how much the artform can give and take from you. There is nothing quite like seeing the world through a young woman’s eyes, and that is what Prima is meant to showcase.
